PRESENTATION OF THE COURSE

CAE 1 Group: 03


  • Timetable: Mondays and Wednesdays, from 03.00 to 05.30 pm.
    • First part of the class: from 03.00 to 04.10 pm.
    • Break time: from 04.10 to 04.30 pm.
    • Second part of the class: from 04.30 to 05:30 pm.

    CALENDAR
    • Drop out due date: 17 February.
    • Holidays: Mon 20 March; Mon 01, Wed 03, Wed 10, and Mon 15 May.
    • Easter holidays: from 10 to 15 April.
    • End of the course: Wednesday 28 June (Second midterm exam check)
    • Dates of issue of academic records: 10 and 11 July.
    • Assessment:
      • 1st midterm exam (Units 1-3): 17, 19 and 24 April.
      • 2nd midterm exam (Units 4-6): 19, 21 and 26 June.

    ASSESSMENT
    • Assessment of 5 skills:
      • Reading (20%)
      • Writing (20%)
      • Use of English (20%)
      • Listening (20%)
      • Speaking (20%)
    • The final grade is the average of the two exams.
    • Passing grade: 80 pts. and 80% of attendance (maximum number of absences = 5; but 5 consecutive absences are cause for dismissal)

    OTHER ASPECTS
    • The use of the Workbook is mainly at home. Be ready for its checking after each unit.
